What is SVSLearn?

Officially, we’re the School of Visual Storytelling, which is kind of a mouthful. So we go by SVSLearn for short 😀 We are an online educational resource for illustrators of all skill levels. We offer online illustration classes that you can stream on demand no matter where you are (as long as there is a good internet connection!).

I’m new here. How does it work?

Welcome! We have several different options for joining our illustration community:

Membership. Subscribe and get instant access to our illustration community and illustration classes. We offer three different priced tiers that give you access to different levels of education, community, live events, our podcast and monthly art challenge. See the Pricing page for more details about all the benefits. If you are curious to see what SVSLearn is all about, this is a great way to check it out!

Pro Classes. Enroll in one of our Pro classes. This is for those of you who want more intensive instruction, on a specific field of illustration. These classes usually run 9-10 weeks, with weekly Zoom meetings with the instructors and a built-in peer group. Currently, we run Children’s Book Pro and Self Publishing Pro several times per year. Subscribe to our newsletter for updates.

Is any part of the community visible to the general public?

Everything in the community will be behind a paywall, so only members can see what’s going on here. We want a space where people can share WIPs (works in progress) and projects they’re developing without the world watching. A place where you can grow and develop without judgment, but with constructive feedback.

We accept all major credit cards via our payment processor Stripe.

Will my Membership automatically renew?

Yes, it will automatically renew every six months or year on a recurring basis, unless you cancel it first.

How do I cancel my membership?

If you paid with a credit card, just navigate to your profile, find Billing, click on the 3 dots to the right of your subscription, and hit Cancel. Easy peasy!

If you have a Legacy account and paid with PayPal, just email us at support@svslearn.com and we’ll be happy to help you.

Is SVSLearn an accredited school?

No. SVSLearn is an online resource for artists of all skill levels. While we do offer online illustration classes, we are not an accredited school, and we do not offer a degree program. Think of it as a supplement to traditional art school.

How do I find out about upcoming classes?

Pro Classes are held several times a year. To get updates, you can follow us on social media, sign up for our email newsletters or visit the News page of our website.
