KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • You do what you do. Every job you take becomes part of who you are as an artist, so it’s important to be selective about the kinds of work you accept. Have the integrity to make the work you feel the world needs from you, rather than what pays the best or seems the easiest.

  • If something seems risky to everyone but you, pursue it!

  • Pace yourself. Give yourself enough time to make high-quality work, and give your audience enough time between releases to absorb what you’ve created.
